Who should Report the Acts of Bullying?

Any student who is a victim.

Any student who is a bystander (a witness).

Teachers and other staff who witness, or receive a complaint from a student (victim or bystander) or parents.

Documenting the bullying complaint or act by completing a Bullying Incident Report will provide the Principal (or designated staff) tangible proof of acts of bullying and repeated acts of bullying to further investigate and take proper actions.

A strong statement of a school's stand against bullying.

A clear definition of bullying.

A declaration of the rights of individuals in the school community – to be free of bullying and (if bullied) to be provided with help and support

A statement of the members of the school community: to abstain personally from bullying others in any way and to actively discourage bullying when it occurs.

A general description of what the school will do to deal with the incidents of bullying and how it can take appropriate action based on its severity and seriousness.

A plan to evaluate the policy’s effectiveness within a specified time period and revise if necessary.
