Watch your leadership
Discussion
Leadership teams come under the authority of the school. The teams therefore need to be properly trained and directed by a willing and knowledgeable adult.
Leadership is about getting everyone involved in doing the right thing. Therefore the leaders should be people who have learned the right things to do and are applying them into practice.

Bullying reduction is like a watch. You need every piece working well for the watch to work effectively. One student may reduce some bullying; however, involving many or all students together can create a very powerful team.
One person’s action can often start a domino effect throughout the community bringing about a positive change with benefits that could have a long lasting effect.

Your enthusiasm as a leader, when properly demonstrated, will serve to encourage other students in your school.

Below are some easy steps to develop a strong anti bullying team. Remember everyone is important on your team so work together and help to create a safe school environment.

Step 1: Create an anti-bullying leadership team - A teacher must volunteer to assist students. (The teacher’s role is to overlook the leadership team and make sure that everyone is on the right track.)

Step 2: During morning announcements ask other students to become involved in the anti bullying team.

Step 3: Have a meeting to get started. It is a good idea to have one student as the head leader and two back up assistant leaders.

Step 4: Discuss the purpose of your team and what is expected if they want to join up.

Step 5: Have every student go over the leadership pages we have designed for you. Ask for input and ideas about how the team can be most effective and on strategies of how to proceed.
